在山脚下的一座农场里，有一只小鸡。他是一只非常急躁的小鸡，总是气乎乎的！
At the foot of mountain, in the farm, lived a small chicken. He was a very impatient chicken, always in a bad skin.
每天，当大伙啄着米粒或在泥地里寻找虫子时他总是嚷嚷着：
Every day, he shouted to the other chickens while picking rice grain or hunting worm in mud:
“滚一边去，远离我的食物！这是我的食物！假如你们胆敢碰它一下，就是要挑起战争！”
“Keep to the side, get away from my food. It’s My food! If you dare to touch it, you are looking for a fight! ”
但是其他小鸡忙于觅食无暇理睬他，于是他总是被冷落一旁。当他高声抱怨之时，米粒有时候甚至是虫子全被吃光了。因此，他总是感到很饿。
But other chickens were busy with food and no one paid attention to him, and he always got short shirt. When he’s complaining aloud, no rice grain and sometimes even no worm left. So he always felt hungry.
他越饿就越愤怒。他总是像条疯狗一样乱咬一通以致于其它小鸡都懒得理他。
When he felt hungrier, he was more irritable. He always bit around as a mad dog so that all other chickens let him alone.
他跑到妈妈母鸡那里高声哭诉：
He ran to Mummy hen and cried aloud:
“妈咪，我这么饿但是哥哥姐姐他们把所有的食物都抢光了！这不公平！”
“Mummy, I am so hungry but brothers and sisters grab all food away! It’s Unfair!”
母鸡妈妈用她的翅膀轻拍着他的背：
Mummy hen patted him on the back with her wings:
“亲爱的宝贝，要耐心要冷静地告诉哥哥姐姐！你应该将时间花在寻找食物上而不是抱怨和发脾气！”
“Dear baby, be patient and tell your brothers and sisters calmly. You should spend time in looking for food other than complaining and losing your rag!”
但他却认为母鸡妈妈只护着其他小鸡，他彻底愤怒了！他跳了起来大声吼道：
But he thought mummy hen was shielding them and had a meltdown. He jumped out and roared:
“你不爱我！你们都是自私鬼！我恨死你们了！”
“You don’t love me. You are all selfish! I hate you all dead!”
他啄着妈妈的翅膀哭着跑开了！
He pecked his mummy’s wings and ran away with tears.
他爬到山顶，用力地拍打着地面独自哭泣着。
He climbed to the peak and wept alone while beating his wings rapidly against the mud.
吵闹声惊醒了树上的松鼠：
The loud noise woke up the squirrels on a tree:
“他怎么啦？”
“What’s the matter with him?”
“或许他回不了家！”
“Maybe he’s missing home!”
“他真可怜！”
“He’s so poor!”
…
然后他们跳下树靠近他：
Then they jumped down the tree and came over to him:
“伙计，你回不了家了吗？或许我们能帮你！”
“Guy, are you missing home? Maybe we can help you!”
小鸡愤怒地回道：
The chicken shouted back:
“我讨厌那个家！我宁愿独自呆在这里！假如让我再看到他们，我会将他们痛打一顿！”
“I hate that home; I would rather stay here alone. If let me see them again, I will beat them up!”
松鼠们看他如此生气都很遗憾。
The squirrels felt sorry for him as he was so angry.
松鼠妈妈对他喊道：
Mummy squirrel shouted to him:
“小鸡宝宝，在这里大声哭大声地叫，或许你会感觉好一点！”
“Baby chicken, cry aloud here and shout out here, maybe you will feel something good!”
“这不关你的事！滚！”
“It’s none of your business! Go!”
他气势汹汹地冲向他们，松鼠们赶紧跑到树上去！
He rushed to them and they escaped to trees quickly.
他哭啊，哭啊，哭啊，甚至哭成了一条河，最后眼泪都干了，他又累又饿。
He then cried, cried and cried, even cried a river of tears and finally used his up. He was very tired and hungry.
这回儿安静多了，松鼠们在树上爬下爬上快乐地采摘着坚果，小鸡困惑地望着他们：
It was silent now. Squirrels were climbing up and down happy for nut. The chicken looked up and puzzled:
“你们为什么这么快乐呀？看，那个可恶的家伙抢走了那里的所有坚果！为什么不生气？他在掠夺你们的食物！”
“Why are you so happy? Look, that sick guy robbed all nuts there! Why not angry? He’s robbing your food!”
松鼠们平静地回道：
The squirrels replied calmly:
“这树上这么多坚果呢，这是我们的抢食游戏！有趣吧？用餐时间应该是很快乐的！”
“There are so many nuts on trees, it’s our food trick! Interesting? Dinner time must be happy!”
正在这时，一些虫子爬出了地面，小鸡快速地将他们一一抓住。
Just at that time, some worms climbed out the mud, the chicken caught them one after another quickly.
当他的肚子里装满了虫子，他感到快乐极了，他笑着对松鼠说：
When he’s full of worms, he felt happy and smiled to squirrels:
“你说得对！吃饭时生气是愚蠢的事！”
“You are right! Being angry in dinner time is so foolish!”
所有的松鼠都欢呼：
All the squirrels cheered up:
“做情绪的国王，而不要做情绪的奴隶！万岁！感谢上帝赐给我们食物!”
“To be the king not slave of emotion! Hooray, Thank God for the food in front of us!”
